Archeological

This tour is for tourists, who want to take part in excavations at archeological site and stay at the base of archeological expeditions.
The base is located 1km away from the ancient city of Dalvarzintepa, which is 120km away from Termez city.
The city's area is 47 hectares, comprised of king's palace and the city itself, where rich citizens and craftsmen lived. There were 2 Buddhist temples together with the temple of local goddess. The city was the capital of powerful Kushan Empire in 1 BC.
Archeological expedition regularly excavates the area from 1967 and during this period there were found 40 Buddhist sculptures, storage of gold jewelry of 36 kg, ancient ivory chess pieces, pottery houses (11 baking ovens), large number of copper coins, terracotta, wall paintings, ancient architectural pieces, big quantity of precious stone jewelry, etc.
Excavations at the territory of this ancient city are being carried out together with Japanese scientists from 1989.
Expedition base has necessary accommodation and lodging capacity for 10-20 people.

DETAILED ITINERARY for ARCHEOLOGICAL tour
Day 01          TASHKENT
Welcome reception upon arrival
Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 02          TASHKENT - TERMEZ (by air)
Breakfast, transfer to airport for HY- 1151 (11:20-13:10) flight to Termez. Arrival and transfer to the restaurant. After lunch, transfer to hotel for check-in. Sightseeing tour of Termez (archeological museum & old Termez). Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03          TERMEZ - ARCHEOLOGICAL CAMP (120km)
Breakfast, drive to archeological camp. On the way visit to Djarkurgan minaret & the bridge of Alexander the Great. Check-in & lunch at the camp. Introduction by local archeologists. Transfer to Dalverzin-tepa (1km) to take a part in excavations. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 04          ARCHEOLOGICAL CAMP
Early breakfast, transfer to Dalverzin-tepa to take a part in excavations. Lunch at the camp (12:00). Break for rest ...
16:00 onwards - continuation of excavations. Dinner & overnight at the camp.

Day 05          ARCHEOLOGICAL CAMP

Day 06          CAMP- SHAHRISABZ-SAMARKAND (490km)
Early breakfast, drive to Shakhrisabz. Arrival and transfer to lunch. After lunch, city tour of Shakhrisabz. Shakhrisabz is known as native town of Tamerlane. Visit to Aksaray, Kuk-Gumbaz mosque, Gumbazi Saidon mausoleum, Dorus Saodat complex and Hazrat Imam Mosque. After all visits, drive to Samarkand. Arrival and transfer to Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 07          SAMARKAND
Breakfast, full day city tour of Samarkand. Visit to Ulugbek observatory (15 th Century), Afrasiab museum with wall paintings and Shahi Zinda mausoleum. After lunch at local restaurant, visit to Registan Square, Bibi Khanum mosque, bazaar, and Gur Emir Mausoleum. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 08          SAMARKAND - TASHKENT (350 km)
Breakfast, drive to Tashkent. Lunch in a local restaurant. City tour of Tashkent. Visit to Applied Arts museum and old part of the city, including Barak Khan Madrasah, Tilla Shayh mosque, Chorsu bazaar. Visit to Navoi Theater. Dinner.
